Tabletops and Interactive Surfaces

Recent technological advances have finally aligned the state-of-the-art of interactive surfaces with the public's imagination. Now, we can build systems like tabletops and interactive surfaces that support an exciting new level of rich interaction via touchable displays. These new technologies open the doors to brand new worlds of collaboration and information dissemination, but an uncountable number of questions still remain whose solutions we would take for granted in traditional environments.

Here at the HCI Lab, we're earnestly exploring the fascinating and frustrating realities of dealing with tabletop computers. To do so, we have built a tabletop of our own and are developing a .NET library called TT for rapid prototyping and development of applications. Particular areas of interest include document sharing strategies and new media applications.
